Workload
Chris' Journal, July 2, 1998

Five days into the trip and the work is piling up around us. With interviews to transcribe, the web site to up keep and up load, and emails to send and answer, we have been keeping very busy.

In the past week we have found ourselves putting in 18 hour work days. Typing, talking, meeting, calling, driving, reading. The "ToDo" list grows and shrinks, a constant ebb and flow of time requirements, activities, and things to get done.

But in this flurry of activity and action I find myself smiling and laughing. The work just doesn't seem like work. I am having simply too much fun. The people we meet, the stories we hear, the places we go; I have this strong desire to quickly share it with others. This spurs me to act and get the writing and uploading done.

Sure, we're only five days into it and have a long stretch of highway ahead. But I am enjoying the moment and doing something I want to do. What could be better than that?
