Photographic Journeys Chris' Journal, August 20, 1998 Photos can tell you so much about a person. A place. An activity. An event. We put a lot of thought into the decision to include a photo album on the Quest-4 site. Of course we thought it would be nice to give our family and friends a chance to see where we were and that we were well since we would be away for 6-8 months on the open road. But more importantly we thought the photos may help to share the journey with others. To bring them into the jeep with us and get them to tag along on the road, sharing a bit of our personality and personal quests with all those interested. We weren't sure how the 'public' would receive the photos, or even if they would ever look at them. But we wanted to offer others some of the beauty of the country we traverse through images. Perhaps intice others to take their own journeys, at home and away, or encourage readers to explore other options, geographically and in careers and paths. We have been pleasantly suprised to find people are indeed getting something out of the photo album. We have received comments, both through email and in person, from people who check in weekly just to browse the pictures and see the sights. People we have never met are joining us virtually, learning more about the country though the photos and about us as we embark on our own personal quests. I hope we can continue to educate and entertain through images as much as words.
